Washington Square Partners was hired by BI & DI Real Estate to serve as a development manager and advise on discretionary approvals for the 400 Fifth Avenue Project. The project is a high-quality, mixed use hotel and residential building located on Fifth Avenue between West 36th and West 37th streets. The Gwarthmey Siegel & Associates designed building includes a 200-room hotel and 199 condominium units.
Washington Square Partners assisted by developing a strategy and successfully obtaining approval to transfer air rights from the landmark Tiffany Building located across the street. Transferring these development rights required related approvals from the Landmarks Preservation Commission and the City Planning Commission. As part of this approval, the developer contributed toward the landmarks preservation. In addition, Washington Square Partners assisted in the overall project management and advised on project planning. The project had its grand opening in fall of 2010.
